much in love with Lord Krishna and worship him and Radha Rani that the women of
Barsana start preparing from a month in advance. This is a ritual of the people
of that place so the mothers in laws use to feed their daughters-in-law with
delicious and rich food. It is a tradition among the people of that place to
show their love, fun and equality.
The legend behind Holi celebrated in Mathura is -
It is said that young Krishna was jealous of Radha's fair complexion since he
himself was very dark. And Maya Yashoda tells him to apply any color in Radha
face in whichever colour he wanted. In a mischievous mood, Krishna applied
color on Radha face. The tradition of applying color on one beloved is being traditionaly
followed until date.
