Holi celebration in Mathura

Holi is the festival of colors, which is celebrated every year in every part of India. Holi is refers the victory of good over evil. Holi is the symbol of returning of  spring season. Here we will describe you Holi which is played in Mathura of India and here are so many types of Holi such as “Braj Holi”, “Dulandi Holi”, “Rangpanchami”, “Basant Utsav”, “Dol Purnima” and many more.

Holi celebration in Mathura

As we all know that the people of Mathura Vrindavan they worship Lord Krishna. They had such an immense believe in Lord Krishna so they celebrate Holi for over a week. Each different day they celebrate Holi in major Krishna temple. Many tourists also came here to enjoy or to see the celebration of Holi in Mathura.


People also play Gulal-Kund in Bra where they play Holi interestingly. They use to play Holi at the beautiful little lake near Govardhan Mountain. The native and local boys, act in the Krishna-Lila drama, which is always attractive, and attract many foreigners. People had so much of passion. The temple was full with colors these days and lakes had colored water.

The people are so much in love with Lord Krishna and worship him and Radha Rani that the women of Barsana start preparing from a month in advance. This is a ritual of the people of that place so the mothers in laws use to feed their daughters-in-law with delicious and rich food. It is a tradition among the people of that place to show their love, fun and equality.


The legend behind Holi celebrated in Mathura is -


It is said that young Krishna was jealous of Radha's fair complexion since he himself was very dark. And Maya Yashoda tells him to apply any color in Radha face in whichever colour he wanted. In a mischievous mood, Krishna applied color on Radha face. The tradition of applying color on one beloved is being traditionaly followed until date.
