History of Holi

Holi is called as festival of colors in our country, as holi is also known as “Holika” in ancient times. As the history of Holi is entirely different as many of the persons knows, in the ancient times Holi was celebrated by all Aryans and more in the eastern part of India. The festival was made for the happiness and well being of the family and this occasion was completed by the women of the family and the God Raka (Full Moon) was honored, but as the time running the means of the Holi celebrated for, is now changed.

Mythology

In the mythology, many of the parts in country like Bengal and Orissa, Holi is reminding us the birthday of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (A.D. 1486-1533). The Holi is described as in the Hinduism is “Burning”.

Legends

Legends of the Holi, How can we don’t know about it... this is a very interesting story that we are telling you about the legends, first of all the leading one is “Hiranyakashyap” , he is a king of the state and the for the citizens of states he is a demon. The second one legend is “Holika” for which the destruction of her own, the Holi celebrated. The third one legend is “Prahlad”, he is a son of king “Hiranyakashyap”.

Once King has a son “Prahlad” he is more devoting himself for the worship of his god Lord Narayana, his father, the great king “Hiranyakashyap” always told not so do these things, and to worship Him (Hiranyakashyap) but he is unable to cure his son from the devotion for Lord Narayana and he ordered her sister “Holika” to sit on fire along with his son “Prahlad”. Holika has an advantage that she never burns in fire but she forget that this advantage only works with her alone, and the next Holika and Prahlad sits on fire as the devotion for god Lord Narayana, “Prahlad” is saved by the grace of god and “Holika” is burnt alive in the fire and this is a great win of “Good on Evil”

And in this fantasy of colors we are wishing you all the good happenings, prosperity and great achievements. It’s wishing you Happy Holi 2015.
